From its humble beginnings in a small Russell workshop to the ever-expanding yard in the heart of Opua, the Bay of Islands Marine Centre has risen to become one of the biggest boating and fishing stores in the north. “We are all about quality,” says Chris, “And we believe this is reflected in the stock we sell and use ourselves.” Having been a boat, motor and chandlery business for most of its existence, the idea to make the store bigger and better came to fruition 12 months ago, when Chris and Manuela leased a bigger yard and showroom, enabling them to include an extremely impressive fishing tackle display.
